Israel Action | Iran, Israel, Canada and the Rise of Antisemitism

Thursday, March 7, 2024 27 Adar I 5784

7:30 PM - 9:00 PM

Iran, Israel, Canada and the Rise of Antisemitism will be an informative evening covering both global and local threats to our way of life. Featuring our keynote speaker, Mark Dubowitz, and our two guest speakers, Noah Shack and Melissa Lantsman, we anticipate a lively discussion about the safety and security of Israel and the Jewish diaspora, what has led to the emboldenment of antisemitism worldwide from the streets to the international courts, and the steps that peace-loving democracies such as Canada can (and should) be doing to oppose terrorism and hate group activities.

Join us on Thursday, March 7 at 7:30pm at Temple Har Zion. Dessert reception to follow.

Mark Dubowitz, CEO of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies based in Washington, DC, is widely recognized as one of the key influencers in shaping policies to counter threats from the Iran regime. Mark has advised the Bush, Obama, Trump, and Biden administrations, and his campaign to draw attention to what he saw as the flaws in the Iran nuclear deal was reported by The New York Times as among the most consequential ever undertaken by a Washington think tank leader.

Noah Shack, VP of the Antisemitism and Hate Department at UJA Federation of Greater Toronto, has close to 15 years dedicated to advocacy with the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA), and brings a wealth of experience in government relations, political research, and communications, including being an expert witness before parliamentary committees and serving as a spokesperson for UJA.

Melissa Lantsman MP is a Canadian politician and public relations executive, serving as the Member of Parliament for Thornhill, and has been a strong voice combatting antisemitism. Elected in the 2021 Canadian federal election, she is also the Deputy Leader of His Majesty's Loyal Opposition.
